a nice hotel ruined by bad management
We were initially given a smaller room with 2 single beds and with worse view than the one we had booked and we were told that we were given "a free upgrade" (when it was actually a downgrade!). After we complained we were eventually given back the original rooms we had booked which were satisfactory. However the girl at the reservations was lacking basic courtesy skills. We stayed 4 days and also for the new year eve dinner/celebration at Vinterträdgården. The food quality (and quantity) was subpar for the price (2400sek/person). I guess this was probably due to the hotel owners/managers having invited half of the attendees for free (as friends/personal contacts), as it was revealed by the main singer at the event, and we had to pay for all the free-riders, resulting in a dinner that was not at all worth the price. The band left at 23.15 and we were left with prerecorded music for the rest of the night and the change of the year. Simply ridiculous!! If the managers do not stop using the hotel to cater their friends and start putting more emphasis on their paying customers, we will not visit Högis again. As a sidenote, the hotel is advertised as having a spa, but there is no pool.

Fantastic athmosphere all over
Great location just beside ski area, possibility to rent ski in hotel’s basement (also cross-skiing), great free parking, amazing athmosphere in lobby and restaurant, spacy room, great bed.
The hotel did not succeed to print invoice neither receipt for received payment when checking out. They promised to send this on e-mail later that day, but they did not send us the invoice before two days after, when we sent a reminder.
